'There Are People Who Cannot Afford This'

Radnor's school board considering a tax hike that three of its members oppose.

On Tuesday a majority of Radnor's school board approved a preliminary budget that would represent a real estate tax increase of 3.28 percent, reports Main Line Media News.

“We haven’t seen a projection … of this year’s operating expenses,” school board member Pattie Booker is quoted as saying. “There are people who cannot afford this.”

Republicans Booker, Susan Michaelson and Charles Madden voted against the preliminary budget.
