Vitali Beats Toal for State Representative Seat

Vitali is the Democratic incumbent.

Greg Vitali, the Democratic State Representative incumbent for the 166th legislative district, beat his Republican challenger Bill Toal in Tuesday’s election.

As of 12 a.m. Vitali was leading Toal by 20,637 to 12,077 votes.

Vitali, a Haverford resident, has been a member of the House since 1993.

“During my 20 years in the Pennsylvania legislature I have taken a lead role on environmental issues and have been the recipient of numerous environmental and other awards,” Vitali told Main Line Media News. Read more about him here.

Bill Toal, also a Haverford resident, is a prosecutor in the Delaware County District Attorney’s Office.

According to his Web site, he serves as the District Attorney Office’s liaison for the Safe Schools Program in the Haverford and Radnor School Districts. He also serves as the Solicitor for the Radnor, Haverford, Marple (RHM) Sewer Authority.

Vitali is Democratic chair of the Appropriations, Subcommittee on Fiscal Policy, Environmental Resources & Energy, and Democratic chair of State Government, Subcommittee on Government Operations, according to his Pennsylvania House Web site.

He represents the first precinct of Radnor’s Fifth Ward and both precincts of Radnor’s Seventh Ward.
