Where's the Encke Park Playground?

A reader wrote into Radnor Patch to find out what happened to a Wayne playground.

A playground for small children has been moved for a second time at Encke Park, the park located next to the Radnor Township municipal building.

A Radnor Patch reader wrote in to ask what happened to the playground, which recently disappeared from the site.

Tammy Cohen, director of Radnor's Recreation and Community Programming Department, told Radnor Patch that the township is evaluating all of its parks to see how improvements can be made—from new fencing to comfort stations.

The long-term view of the park may include how the township building and nearby Radnor Trail fits in. A new layout might be part of the future of site, Cohen said.

"We apologize to those who miss the tot lot," she said. "In Radnor, we are fortunate that we have so many playgrounds."

The parking at Encke, a heavily-used park, won't be excluded from evaluation.

Cohen said the evaluations could mean a new and improved tot lot in the future at Encke Park.
