Would No Radnor Tax Increase Mean Fewer New Cops?

Radnor Township manager Bob Zienkowski is recommending a 0 percent tax increase for taxpayers in 2013, reports Main Line Media News.

The newspaper reports that he told the Board of Commissioners on Sunday that it would be possible by reducing a line item in the police budget by $264,000. The savings would be “essentially a delay in hiring for two [police] positions,” the newspaper writes, when five hires had been anticipated.

The newspaper also reports that a proposed $36 per-property fee that would be used to cover increased municipal waste landfill “tipping” charges may be included in the budget.
