Radnor Recreation Department Taking Registration for Summer Programs!

There is NO shortage of things to do this summer with the Radnor Township Recreation & Community Programming Department! Camps, excursions, trips and more will be offered!

The Radnor Township Recreation & Community Programming Department is still taking registrations for many of its exciting summer camps and programs.  With over 40 different programs ranging in topic from basketball, soccer, and many other specialty sports camps to drama and edu-tainment, there is NO shortage of things to do this summer!  Don’t miss your chance to participate. Radnor Recreation’s two most popular summer programs, Radnor Day Camp and Summer Preschool Camp are back again for the summer of 2013! Radnor Day Camp is a 6 week day camp for ages 5 to 15. Camp days are jam packed with exciting activities including sports & games, arts & crafts, swimming, performing arts, field trips, and special events including the annual Camp Carnival, Camp Olympics, and special lunch days. This camp experience is unlike any other!  Multiple options are available including full day, half day, extended day and a Leadership in Training program for older camps in grades 7 to 9. Summer Preschool Camp is a wonderful program for ages 3 to 5. Summer Preschool Camp is a great way to become acquainted with the summer camp experience. Each week features arts & crafts, games, music & songs, storytelling, visitors, and more that all revolve around that week’s special theme.  NEW for 2013: A full day option until 2:00 pm! Three week and six week sessions are available.

On Friday, August 30th, we will once again be running an exciting trip to Flushing Meadows, New York to the 2013 U.S. Open Tennis Championships, the world’s premier tennis event!  You will have the opportunity to watch the world’s greatest male and female players stake their claim to one of the most coveted titles in sports - U.S. Open Champion. Tickets are for the Men’s 2nd round and Women’s 3rd round of competition.  Transportation is provided on a deluxe motor coach. This trip is sure to sellout, sign up today!

 

This summer the Recreation Department will be selling discount tickets to local amusement parks including Hershey Park, Dorney Park & Six Flags, movie theatres, and other local family attractions.  Tickets are NOW AVAILABLE!  Purchase your tickets in advance and save on family fun.  Stop by the Recreation Department Office to purchase your tickets in person.

 

Mark your calendars for Summer Family Fun!  This summer Radnor Recreation will be offering many FREE special events designed to bring the community together outdoors for some great family entertainment.  The Radnor Summer Concert Series presented by TD Bank kicks off on Wednesday, July 17th at Clem Macrone Park in Rosemont with two concerts held at different community parks.  Radnor Family Movie Night presented by PECO will be held on Wednesday, June 26th at St. David’s Community Park.  Come out to the park and watch the movie Thunderstruck outdoors under the stars!  Radnor Recreation partners with the Wayne Art Center to present Shakespeare in the Park.  Come see a live performance of A Midsummer Night’s Dream held outdoors at the Willows Mansion. The event starts at 7:00pm and all ages are welcome!  Can’t get tickets to see the Phillies in action at Citizen’s Bank Park this season? Join us for A Night at the Ball Park & Fireworks Finale on Wednesday, July 24that Encke Park! We have partnered with the Radnor-Wayne Little League and will be broadcasting the game on a GIANT screen TV as the Phillies take on the St. Louis Cardinals. This event will also include fun pre-game activities beginning at 6:00 pm and a fireworks display will light up the sky mid-way through the game!
