Wayne Elementary School Parent-Teacher Organization Encouraging Families to "Buy a Brick, Build A Playground"

To celebrate the 40th anniversary of Wayne Elementary School, the school’s Parent-Teacher Organization is asking families purchase tiles for a mural wall to help fund new playground equipment.

To celebrate the 40th anniversary of Wayne Elementary School, the school’s Parent-Teacher Organization is asking families to “Buy A Brick, Build A Playground” to help raise funds to replace the school's primary playground equipment that has existed since WES opened. The PTO is selling tiles for placement on a mural wall at the entrance of the school and all proceeds will go toward the new equipment.

Each tile is $75 and can be personalized as a gift to children, family and teachers. Additional donations can be mailed to WES PTO, 651 West Wayne Ave., Wayne, PA 19087. All donations are tax deductible. To get involved immediately, visit wespto.donationbrick.com.

On Saturday, Nov. 24, WES students, alumni and parents bared the cold to paint “The Three Little Pigs” on the wall in a show of support. The tiles will be used to decorate the old "ABC Wall" in the front of the school, a surface that has been blank for years.

The PTO owes its success to the strong knit community of involved parents who have been motivated and creative in supporting the school. For more information, contact Grace Waddell at grace.wadell@verizon.net.
