Readiness Drills Planned for All Five Radnor Schools

RTSD staff members and Radnor Police to continue safe school training.

In collaboration with the Radnor Police Department, Radnor Township School District staff members are taking another step in maintaining the safety and security of all students by participating in readiness drills at each school on June 18, 19 and 20.

School is not in session on these dates and students will not be present for the drills.

  • Ithan Elementary School will host members of the Radnor PD for a drill on Wednesday, June 18 at 9 a.m.
  • Radnor High School will host officers from the Radnor PD for a drill on June 18 at 1 p.m.
  • Radnor Elementary School will host officers from the Radnor PD for a drill on Thursday, June 19 at 9 a.m.
  • Radnor Middle School will host officers from the Radnor PD for a drill on June 19 at 1 p.m.
  • Wayne Elementary School will host officers from the Radnor PD for a drill on Friday, June 20 at 9 a.m.

According to the Radnor PD, "on these dates and times for training, the public will see a higher than normal amount of police activity, police vehicles and uniformed officers partaking in these functional readiness exercises. Radnor Police officers will also be using blank firearm cartridges for simulation and training purposes during these exercises."

The Radnor PD plans to further notify the community via text alerts through Radnor Township's Code Red system on the week of the drills. Letters are also scheduled to be hand-delivered to community members who live in close proximity to the schools.
