524 Sproul Road in Villanova is on the market for $1.1 million and is being called "an architect's dream."

The home, which was a cattle barn for the Dupont family built around 1812, has undergone a half-million dollar renovation that removed and replaced the whole roof and restructured its stone walls. A french drain has also been installed under the ground floor.

Co-listing agents Tom Lowy and Marni O'Riordan say the massive home is structurally sound and ready for someone "with a mission or vision."

Most of the interior walls, rooms and stairways are easily removable. All three of the home's floors have exterior access, so a buyer could refigure the entire building.

"It's an architect's dream," O'Riordan said.

Oil has been converted to gas and a septic system converted to public sewer.

The home's third floor, which can be accessed to the outside by a huge barn door, is an expanse that has one wall ready for complete glass installation. (Gardner-Fox recently restructured the third floor.)

"It's ready to go for another 200 years," O'Riordan said.
