January a Chilly Month for Home Sales in Radnor

The median price of what sold was down last month.

Radnor Township home sales in January of this year increased slightly over the same month in 2012.

According to a Home Market report from Prudential Fox and Roach Realtors, 17 properties changed hands in the township last month. In 2012 that number was 14; in 2011 it was 17.

Radnor fared seventh best percentage-wise out of nine Main Line municipalities included in the report.

The median price of a home sold in Radnor decreased 18 percent in January to $499,900 from $ 610,000 the prior January. In 2011 that number was $445,000.

The average days on the market for homes that sold in Radnor in January 2013 decreased by 8.3 percent from 133 last year to 122 days, according to the Prudential Fox and Roach report. In 2011 that number was 92.
