Women and Strength Training

No matter what your fitness regimen is, strength training in some form should be a part of it. It is the foundation of building bone mass and strengthening muscles.

X-Force is a completely new patented method for negative training and more strength as a result. The machines feature a radically different construction, which makes their feel unique- but at the same time, understandably familiar for radically better results. X-force utilizes the power of negative training. This means that it takes less time to reach muscular failure and therefore to enhance muscular size and strength. Today research clearly supports the concept that negative training (eccentric) training significantly improves muscle strength and that better results can be achieved by combining this with postive (concentric) training.  Main Line Health and Fitness discovered this revolutionary strength training system in Sweden and is one of only two gyms in the United States to offer it.

I believe that EVERY woman wants to look at herself as a "strong" woman. Yes, she may also want to either find a challenging class or a specific cardio machine, however if she finds a strength training program that will accomplish her goals in 30 no-nonsense minutes, once a week, she will go for it.

Thin women, even lean, muscular thin women must always have foremost in their minds the necessity to maintain, and even more importantly, to build bone mass. The top priority in training from the outset should be to build bone mass by strengthening the functional muscles through progressive strength training. This is best achieved by strengthening the major muscular structures of the body through circuit type weight training using resistance machines or free weights.  Focus strongly on the muscles at the head of the femur, those areas most prone to bone mineral loss. Research indicates that "lowering" heavy resistance may be key to efficient bone building.

At MLH&F this requirement is more than satisfied by X-Force training, enabling a trainee to lower 40% heavier resistance. One HARD weekly 30 minute workout.  That is all that is needed when you train on this revolutionary strength training machinery.

I say it again and again to people I train : Train hard, train smart. Be YOUR best.
