All Radnor Schools Achieve Adequate Yearly Progress

Radnor is the only school district in Delaware County to achieve proficiency measurement every year since its inception.

The Pennsylvania Department of Education has announced that all five Radnor Township School District (RTSD) schools have achieved Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP) for the 2010-2011 school year. It is the ninth consecutive year Ithan, Radnor and Wayne Elementary Schools, Radnor Middle School, and Radnor High School have all achieved AYP. RTSD is the only school district in Delaware County in which every one of its schools has achieved AYP each year since the measurement began in the 2002-2003 school year.

“Meeting, and exceeding, AYP for the ninth straight year once again confirms how exceptional our schools truly are,” RTSD Superintendent Dr. Linda Grobman said. “We cannot rest on our laurels, however. We will use these and other measurements to keep refining our educational practices to ensure Radnor students are optimally prepared for school, life and their futures.”

The achievement was recognized at the RTSD Nov. 22 school board meeting. Plaques from the Pennsylvania Department of Education were awarded to representatives from each school.
