Clashing of the Memes: Integral Politics

The Integral Philly Meetup group talks about the study of human perspectives using the "map" created by Philosopher Ken Wilber.   This map creates a universal view of how everything fits together - drawing upon psychology, systems theory, anthropology and philosophy.

Hey Integralistas -

I have started reserving nights for our Integral Philly Fall series.   I'm hoping to see you on Monday, Sept. 17 at the Radnor library.   We have two topics:

1) Integral Politics - the conventions will be over and the Presidential debate will be near.  Key races will take place all over the country.   Call me crazy, but it seems that we've made little progress as a country in having civil discourse.   We'll use the Integral Lens to explore questions like:   In what ways are the Democratic and Republican perspectives true but partial?   Is there room for common ground?   Why are we so deeply entrenched in a two party system?  What can we do in the trenches to help influence positive change across the spectrum?

2) Where to for Integral Philly? I'd welcome getting your ideas, inputs and creative energy around where to for our group for the remainder of 2012 and beyond (assuming we're still here! ;-) ).   I already have some speakers interested in continuing our Integral Speaker series - so I'm open to these suggestions as well.

This could be a fun topic over drinks and dinner after the meetup.  Downtown Wayne is always accommodating with its host of restaurants, pubs and bars.  We will plan on wrapping up around 8 or 8:30PM.

I hope you can make it!  Please RSVP if you can attend.

We'll collect donations to sustain the group and our hosting organizations, but no one will be turned away for financial reasons.

With gratitude to all of you and to Meetup for making this possible!
