The Radnor Democrats Environment & Energy subcommittee is pleased to announce the second event in our 2012 natural gas seminar series. We are honored to host John Hanger, the former Secretary of the Department of Environmental Protection, as our guest speaker. John is also a former Commissioner of the Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission and was chair of the Pennsylvania Coal Mine Safety Board, making him one of the few leaders with major policy making authority in both utility and energy as well as environmental agencies.

John is a nationally recognized expert on environment, energy, gas drilling and green economy issues who has unique experience in the public and private sectors. He has testified numerous times to Congress and State legislatures and has appeared on CNN, MSNBC, CBS, and in numerous other media outlets. He graduated from Duke University in 1979 and the University of Pennsylvania School of Law in 1984.

The title of Mr. Hanger's presentation is, "The Truth and Nothing But the Truth About America's Energy Choices." The session will provide a comprehensive overview of issues pertaining to energy policy - including the Marcellus Shale, hydraulic fracturing (fracking), and associated issues pertaining to natural gas.  Opportunities for Q&A will follow.

The presentation will be held in the Winsor Room of the Radnor Memorial Library on Wednesday, May 16th, at 3:00 p.m. The event is free and open to all ages and political affiliations. Please note that the Radnor Memorial Library kindly requests that the South Wayne municipal parking lot (across from the Radnor Middle School) be utilized.
