Julie Hanlon Rubio, St. Louis University October 26, 2011 – Driscoll Hall Auditorium – 4:30 PM Dr. Rubio is associate professor of Christian ethics at Saint Louis University. She received a Faculty Excellence Award for teaching in 2003 and 2007. She has served as a consultant to the United States Catholic Bishops for their forthcoming pastoral letter on marriage. Dr. Rubio is author of Family Ethics: Practices for Christians, Georgetown University Press (2010). Her first book, A Christian Theology of Marriage and Family (2003), received a Catholic Press Association award. Her lecture is part of Intersection of Virtue and Ethics, the first of a series of annual lectures dedicated to reflection on the many facets of the Catholic intellectual tradition. The series is sponsored by the Office of Mission and Ministry in collaboration with the departments of Theology & Religious Studies, Philosophy, Humanities, Center for Peace and Justice Education, Villanova Center for Liberal Education, the Ethics and Honors programs.
