Full-Day Kindergarten Moving Ahead

Half-day kindergarten will likely not be an option next school year.

Radnor Township School District's half-day kindergarten will likely be replaced in the 2014-15 school year by a full-day kindergarten program in the district's three elementary schools.

"A $910,000 proposal would include renovations to the annex at Ithan Elementary and adjustments to classrooms in other buildings to make space for more kindergarten classrooms," reports Main Line Media News.

Radnor's Superintendent Michael Kelly "said the district plans to provide information about when enrollment will begin for full day kindergarten by the end of this week. Board members also sought to assure parents that full day kindergarten was a done deal. Kelly said that he does not envision an option for half-day kindergarten in the public schools once the full day program begins," the newspaper reports.
