Girls Night Out to Benefit the Radnor High School Scholarship Fund

The fifth annual event is open to the public and will be held on Thursday, March 22, from 4 to 9 p.m. at The Willows Mansion.

In 1967, the Radnor High School Scholarship Fund awarded its first scholarships. Through the years, the volunteer run organization, has awarded over 800 scholarships to Radnor High School seniors.

During the past 45 years, there have been lots of popular events that have drawn on the community for financial support. In particular the Monte Carlo nights, which Board member and Secretary of the Board of Governors, Patty Lee, remembers volunteering for many years ago. Though the Monte Carlo nights have long gone, the recent Girls Night Out’s have been a real success.

“It’s a nice evening for a good cause,” said Lee. “The view from the solarium is just gorgeous: looking over the grounds and the duck pond.”

This is the fifth annual Girls Night Out and it will be held on Thursday, March 22, from 4 to 9 p.m. at The Willows Mansion. The event is open to the public and attended by not just parents, but past graduates, friends, neighbors, and supporters. Tickets are $25 in advance or $35 at the door.

The event goes to benefit Radnor High School seniors who are heading off to college. The students apply online and are reviewed by an independent third party for financial need. Interviews are set, and finally, the scholarships are awarded during a special reception on senior awards night, at the end of the school year.
