'Nova Students Spend Monday in Service

A group of 75 student-athletes volunteered on campus, leading sports camps for elementary school children from Philadelphia.

Nearly 500 students, faculty, staff and alumni participated in Villanova University’s 2014 MLK “Day of Service,” volunteering at more than 20 locations throughout the Greater Philadelphia region.

The event is part of a week-long celebration of  the legacy of the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., with a series of academic programs, keynote addresses and service opportunities Jan. 20-23, that honor the life and work of the iconic civil rights advancement leader.
