Radnor Falls to Lower Merion in the 115th Contest

Radnor ended their season Saturday with a disappointing loss to their longtime rivals Lower Merion

At 1:00pm on Saturday November 12th at Radnor High School the sun was shining, there was a slight breeze, and the 115th meeting of the Radnor and Lower Merion football teams began. Senior cheerleaders Shelby Richardson and Denise Coffield led the fans in the national anthem, and then the game began.

Radnor scored late in the first quarter, and looked to have a firm grasp on the game, but it slowly came undone. Lower Merion opened the second half with an onsides kick that they recovered, and then two plays later turned into a touchdown.

This year for Radnor Football may not have been the best in the win column. But the heart of players like Seniors Tajae Bryant, Paul Somboonsong, TJ Hines, Joe Yang, Johnny Fitton, Tim Wilson and so many others made this one of the closest teams Radnor has ever seen. The dedication and perserverence each and every Radnor Raider showed this year shows how winning isn't about the score, but about the love of the game and of each other.
