RHS Color Guard Competes

The RHS Color Guard, made up of freshmen through seniors, competed in an event at Ridley High School.

A Color Guard competition took place at Ridley High School on April 21.

placed 4th out of 11 in their division and Radnor Middle School placed 2nd out of 3 in their division.

The middle school guard is run by college freshman Doreen Chang who graduated from Radnor last year and attends University of Pennsylvania. Also, seniors Kristin Beaverson and Laura Okwueze run the guard.

The guard moved up last year from scholastic novice to scholastic intermediate A after a stellar performance. Maria Drew directs the high school guard.

I was instrumental in starting a girls marching drill team in 1970 at Radnor High School. Ms. Ethel Encke was our sponsor at that time. We started out wearing the plaid hockey skirts and white sweaters and also used the cheerleading pompoms,
