Radnor Raiders Defeated By Harriton Rams in Football

Radnor starts season 0-3.

The were bested by the Harriton Rams in Friday night's football game at Radnor's Prevost Field. The 28-14 victory for the Rams was earned as much through Raider mistakes as from solid offensive and defensive play by the Rams. When halftime was over the best Radnor (0-3) performance had been turned in by the marching band.

Harriton scored seven points in the first quarter followed by 14 more points in the second quarter. Their game plan showed a good mix of pass and run plays, supported by a very aggressive defense that held Radnor scoreless.

Things changed in the third quarter when the Raiders switched quarterbacks. Tim Wilson was out and Mike Koerick was in. On their first possession, Radnor drove upfield with a classic running game, pounding out the yardage. While promising, that drive ended when the Raiders faltered on the two-yard line on fourth down. They fell one  yard short of a touchdown. On defense, Radnor held strong and kept the Rams from scoring. The quarter ended with Harriton up 21-0.

The fourth quarter started to take on a different complexion as the Raiders scored two touchdowns to rack up a quick 14 points, but mistakes and turnovers made those 14 points the final score for Radnor. The Rams went on to score once more in the fourth quarter for a final score of Rams 28—Raiders 14.

Radnor will try to notch its first win Sept. 23 when hosting Academy Park.
