All five schools in the Radnor Township School District were honored Thursday with Governor's Awards for Excellence in Academics.
Presenting the awards at a ceremony at Radnor Elementary School was Deputy Education Secretary Jill Hans.
The awards are given to schools that scored 90 or above on the state's School Performance Profile, a school effectiveness evaluation system.
"This is a team effort. Our teachers, administrators and all other staff members work together every day to help Radnor students succeed and thrive," Radnor Township School District superintendent Michael Kelly said. "Each school's high score is a testament to this collective effort. We will continue to do what got us here: focusing on student achievement and growth while maintaining a safe and caring learning environment."
Statewide, 428 schools scored 90 or above. The highest-scoring school in Radnor was Ithan Elementary with a 100.2. Radnor Middle School got a 99.1; Wayne Elementary a 97; Radnor High a 96.7; and Radnor Elementary a 92.1.
Students, teachers and principals from each school were present at Thursday's ceremony.
