Radnor Trounces Lower Merion: Ends Two-Year Drought

The Radnor Raiders went to Lower Merion High School on Saturday afternoon with one goal in mind: snap a two-year losing streak. The last game the Raiders won was against Lower Merion in the 114th meeting of the two teams in November of 2010, at Lower Merion. Injuries and turnovers plagued the team this season, as well as a number of close games. Radnor lost three games by one point this season. The Radnor Raiders left Lower Merion High School on Saturday afternoon with a decisive 35-7 victory over the Lower Merion Aces.

Senior Captain Michael Staples (#72) was awarded the "Great American Rivalry Series" and United States Marine Corps Scholar Athletes award. The player on each team in the highest academic standing is recognized. Staples has many offers to play college football, which include Harvard and Lehigh.

After the game Radnor runningback Jimmie Blake (#2) was awarded the MVP award for the game. Blake reached the distinguished 1,000 yard club, having run for over 1,000 yards this season.
