RHS Presents 'Once Upon A Mattress'

The play retells a Hans Christian Andersen's fairy tale.

 

presents its spring musical, Once Upon A Mattress, on March 1, 2 and 3 in the Radnor High School Auditorium. 

The Broadway classic features a cast of 95 students accompanied by a 25-piece student orchestra and retells Hans Christian Andersen’s fairy tale of The Princess and the Pea.

Tickets ($10 and $15) may be purchased online or in the high school lobby Monday, February 27 through Friday, March 2, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

“This show is one of Broadway’s crown jewels,” notes Musical Director and Radnor High music teacher Dr. Bruce Glenny. “The story is truly timeless, and it’s inspiring to see our young actors interpret material that we’ve gotten to know so well thanks to the work of superstars like Carol Burnett and Sarah Jessica Parker.”

Once Upon A Mattress tells the story of Princess Winnifred the Woebegone and Prince Dauntless the Drab, a lump under a mattress and tests of true love. 

In addition to evening performances at 7:30 pm on Thursday, Friday and Saturday (March 1, 2 and 3), there will also be a 2 pm matinee on Saturday, March 3. 

And don’t forget to bring your little princes and princesses to the RHS cafeteria right before the Saturday matinee for a “Meet The Cast Tea” featuring actors in costume! The event begins at 12 noon and runs to 1:30 p.m. and will cost $8 per person. This admission fee is separate from your show ticket price.
