Students and Teachers Serve Community Members

Radnor High School held its 19th annual thanks-giving dinner.

teachers and students cooked and served traditional Thanksgiving dishes to hundreds of community members at the school’s 19th annual Thanks-Giving Dinner on Thursday, Nov. 17 in its cafeteria.

Members of the , congregants from the Greater Mt. Vernon Baptist Church in North Philadelphia, and the high school’s evening custodial staff enjoyed turkey, stuffing, and dessert—among other treats—at the event.

The dinner included musical performances by RHS students and church members, gospel songs by the church choir, and dancing. Students served diners from rolling trays as teachers and other volunteers prepared the dishes in the kitchen. All leftovers were sent home with attendees. The high school also collected non-perishable items during a food drive the week before that the church members took with them to distribute to the needy in their neighborhood.

The event was also the last for Lois Wysocki, a RHS science teacher who has coordinated the dinner since its inception and is retiring at the end of this school year.
