Villanova: Athletic Improvements Not On The Horizon

Upgrades to existing facilities are planned, but for the long-term, the university says.

Responding to a blog that recently published a glimpse of the “future of Villanova athletics,” a university spokesperson says that “future” is far away.

Jonathan Gust told Radnor Patch, , that during reunion weekend there are a lot of talks and presentations given to alumni.

The June 9 talk by the athletic department was to give alumni “a glimpse of what future could hold” and included “possible future improvements to current facilities.”

So a new West Campus soccer complex “with a facelift and artificial turf” and a renovation the Pavilion, for example, are part of long-term athletic department feasibility study, Gust said. They are not approved projects by the university.

Upgrades are being looked at to “enhance existing facilities” and to make them “state of the art.”

They are not aimed at expansion, he said.
