Villanova Students Hold a Day of Service

The event is an annual celebration of the university's patron saint.

More than 4,000 students, faculty, staff and alumni volunteered at 175 service sites throughout Greater Philadelphia on Saturday for the University's St. Thomas of Villanova Day of Service.

The event is an annual celebration of the university's patron saint, known for his great charity to the poor and marginalized. 

Of the 175 service sites, there were 32 locations in Delaware County, including eight in Radnor township.

Working in partnership with local organizations and neighborhood agencies, the Villanova community took part in projects ranging from planting trees and cleaning up neighborhoods, to serving meals and packaging food for hunger relief organizations.
