Radnor Raiders Defeated By Conestoga Pioneers

Radnot found itself outclassed on Friday night at Prevost Field.

The Conestoga Pioneers rolled over the Radnor Raiders Friday night at Prevost Field winning the gridiron match 33 – 6. From the first moments of the game it was clear that the Raiders were in for a long night as their early possessions ended with little gains. The Raiders did not score a point in the first half.

With 6:37 left in the first quarter Conestoga's Adam Baynard caught a pass in the end zone putting the Pioneers first points on the scoreboard. Again with just 1 minute to go in the first quarter Pioneer quarterback Joe Viviano hit Andrew DeStefano with another pass in the end zone. Missing the conversion on the second touchdown, the first quarter ended with Conestoga ahead 13 – 0.

The second quarter belonged to Conestoga too.  Five minutes into the quarter running back Jerrell Clarke capped off a drive that started with a pass interception and ended with a two yard  plunge over the goal line. Another failed conversion attempt brought the score to 19-0.  Then with 4 minutes to go in the quarter Conestoga's Riley Prtichett intercepted a pass on Radnor's 20 yard line and ran the ball in for a touchdown. The extra point kick was good and the Pioneers were in the lead 26 – 0, a score that would hold until into the third quarter.

The third quarter brought with it another score  for Conestoga on a touchdown pass caught by Andrew DeStefano, his send touchdown catch of the game, with 11 minutes to go. A good conversion brought the score to Conestoga 33 and Radnor 0.  Then the unexpected happened. The Raiders mounted their first and only sustained drive  down field on a series of running plays. Conestoga added 30 yards to that drive with two 15 yard penalties that brought Radnor just a few yards from the goal.  That drive ended with a running score giving Radnor its first 6 points. The two point conversion attempt failed, and the third quarter ended with a score of 33 – 6.

In the fourth quarter Pioneeer wide receiver Davonte Carter scored the fail touchdown of the game. The final score was Conestoga 39 to Radnor 6.
