Radnor's Oldest 'Has-Been'

Each year the Varsity and Junior Varsity football players welcome the "has-beens" and listen to their stories.

Radnor Patch reader Susan Leighton sent in this photo from Saturday's annual "Has-Been" Luncheon that takes place at Radnor High School before the big Lower Merion football game.

The picture is of current RHS Head Football Coach Tom Ryan and Radnor's oldest living "has-been", Jerry D. Mansueto.  He was class of 1934 and will be turning 100 on November 24, according to Leighton.  The man on the right is former coach, George Corner.

Each year the Varsity and Junior Varsity players welcome the "has-beens" and listen to their stories. "It's a wonderful tradition and what a privilege to have Jerry join us," she said.
