Top Places to Stay Cool in Radnor

We're having a heat wave. Find the best places to cool off locally.

The Philadelphia area is under a excessive heat warning all week with heat indexes expected to top 100 degrees.

Staying cool is not just about comfort, for some people it’s about safety. Weather like this puts everyone, but especially the very young and older adults, at risk.

Here’s Radnor Patch’s list of the top places to keep cool around town:

1. The Radnor Library: With air conditioning, Wifi and, of course, thousands of books there's not much reason to leave the library, except for meals, which can be found a block away in downtown Wayne.

2. The Wayne Senior Center: The center is a resource for senior citizens who are looking for activities, information or just a place to hang out.

3. The Anthony Wayne and Regal Cinemas in King of Prussia are your closest options if you want to spend a few hours in a very cool, very dark atmosphere.

4. The Wayne Art Center: Browse the current exhibits, shop in the art center store or take an art class. The Student Works 2013: Exhibition opens Wednesday July 17 from 5 to 7 p.m. It is free and open to the public.

5. The Mall: Have you been to the King of Prussia Mall lately? It’s big, nicely air conditioned. You can shop if you want or just walk around looking at the sights. It has a small indoor playground in the court by Pottery Barn Kids.

6. A Pool: Do you have a friend with a pool or maybe you belong to the Conestoga Swim Club, Martin's Dam, Upper Main Line YMCA or another swim club? Either way, the water is a great place to keep cool.
