You want a dog – but you can’t have a dog, right? So how about Oscar—a cat. Here’s a companion with a big personality, eager to buddy up with you, follow you around, and it doesn’t hurt that he’s gorgeous too. Oscar is the kind of guy who knows how to take care of himself, against all odds. This Maine Coon, about four years old, had been living outside a senior living facility, begging food from the ladies who were kind enough to serve him dinner on the porch.

Inch by inch, he won their hearts and even made his way inside for a nice warm place to rest his head and a good brushing.  A cat could get used to this!  Lucky for Oscar that a pet sitter who was a regular visitor to the facility also made sure to feed him, pet him and see that he was okay living outside.  Oscar got to recognize her car as soon as it pulled up.  (Smart – thinks he’s a dog.) He got to like her so much he’d hop in the car, hoping she’d take him home.

But the residents said he’s our friend and asked that he stay.  Trouble is, winters are hard on a cat when the cold winds blow and the snow falls.  So the ladies said, alright, take Oscar.  Oscar hopped in the car – and he’s now at Francisvale Home for Smaller Animals in Radnor, where he spends his day gazing out the window.  He is adjusting to no longer being top cat with a ladies fan club – but this isn’t quite like one of those cozy homes he remembers visiting.  So Oscar keeps looking out the window and waiting; a beautiful big boy who will be a beautiful big friend.
