Radnor Fire Chief Reports on Irene

Radnor Fire Company personnal put in over 600 hours standing by during and after the storm.

Radnor Fire Company chief Jim Kelly reports that the fire company had about 30 people running fire and EMS calls during the storm. Radnor Fire Company personnal put in more than 600 hours standing by during and after the storm, he said.

Mostly the calls were for trees and wires down. A few calls were to check on houses that had water in the basements, Kelly said.

Several people were removed from their houses and taken to the evacuation center at Radnor High School. Several calls were to check on people in cars stalled on flooded roadways and numerous calls were to assist the polcie department on closing blocked roadways, he said.
