The Luv4Logan Gala – A Huge Success

Hundreds of people come out to support near-drowning victim Logan Schweiter and his family.

The Luv4Logan Gala brought more than 500 people from Wayne and surrounding areas to the Phoenixville Foundry on Friday night to raise funds to help cover the costs of Logan Schweiter's recovery, rehabilitation, and ongoing medical and care costs.

In July of 2011 Logan, a 12-year-old Tredyffrin boy, and two friends decided to go into a creek behind St. Katharine of Siena School in Wayne.

He suffered traumatic brain damage in the accident. After months in the hospital Logan is now rehabilitating at home and requires daily therapy and care.

Friday night's  "A Night at the Carnival" gala The gala featured live performers and two auctions, one live and one silent. Bidders had a chance to win vacations in the Caymen Islands, Hawaii, and Avalon. A golf getaway, a skiing trip, fine dining certificates and more were also on the auction block.

The event was organized by the Friends of the Schweiters, a volunteer group of neighbors and friends, with guidance from Help Hope Live a Radnor-based national nonprofit organization that provides guidance to families who have to deal with the burdensome costs of catastrophic injuries and transplants.

There were 30 cororate and individual sponsors and dozens of volunteers for the Gala.
