You can tour beautiful local kitchens on Sunday, May 5 and benefit Radnor A Better Chance and the Radnor High School Scholarship Fund.
Participants will tour a variety of stunning kitchens from Bryn Mawr to Wayne.
Two long-time Radnor organizations—Radnor A Better Chance and the Radnor High School Scholarship Fund—are teaming up for the 2nd Annual Recipe for Success Kitchen Tour on Sunday, May 5, 2013, from 1-5 p.m. Participants will tour a variety of stunning kitchens from Bryn Mawr to Wayne. Donation is $35 per person. Payment may be made online at www.radnorscholarshipfund.com or by check payable to RHS Scholarship Fund, P.O. Box 8244, Radnor, PA 19087. Please write “Kitchen Tour” in the memo space. Proceeds from the event will be shared equally by these two charitable organizations. A local chef shows Wayne teenagers some tips on making their own meals.
On Friday afternoon, something was smelling good in the kitchen of the Radnor A Better Chance house in Wayne. Chris Todd, owner of Christopher's, was helping a few Radnor High School students learn how to prepare meals for themselves. They made cookies from scratch, a salad with feta cheese and tomatoes, blackened chicken, polenta and mushrooms. Many times during the weekends the teenagers are left to their own devices for meals in the Radnor ABC House. If you want to volunteer to prepare a Sunday dinner for them, contact the ABC Program.

Radnor's A Better Chance program allows teenagers from disadvantaged areas in New York to attend Radnor High School. Radnor ABC program is in financial straits. Read an article in the Philadelphia Inquirer about the dire situation. Radnor ABC is looking for donations and volunteers. An open house scheduled for 11 a.m. on Sunday, Nov. 11 has been postponed due to downed wires. Radnor Patch will let you know when it is rescheduled. Looking for a local run this May? Radnor ABC’s first annual 5k Run for A Better Chance and 1 Mile Fun Walk will take place May 20 at 9 a.m. at Radnor Middle School. Proceeds from this event will go directly to support the Radnor ABC program and its deserving scholars. The 2nd annual St. Katharine of Siena Fitness Awareness 5k is being held on Saturday May 19, 2012 at 9 a.m. The day consists of a 5k run, a 1-mile run, food, refreshments and music. Both the 5k and 1-mile run start and finish in front of St. Katharine of Siena School on Midland Avenue.
