Online PA Tax Filing Down for a Few Hours Monday

Technical issues apparently kept some from filing their Pennsylvanian taxes.

If you’re a last minute tax filer, you have one more day to file your Pennsylvania taxes. The Commonwealth issued the following statement on its Facebook page: Due to technical issues that prohibited residents from accessing commonwealth websites including the Department of Revenue website and tax filing resources for a few hours earlier today, Revenue Secretary Dan Meuser announced the department will not impose penalties or interest on personal income tax returns filed on or before Tuesday, April 16. This does not impact the federal deadline to file your taxes, which is still Monday, April 15.

Radnor School Board Considering Low to No Tax Increase

A full day kindergarten program may start September, 2014.

The Radnor Township School Board voted on Tuesday to restrain its taxing power to no more than the state’s Act 1 index for 2013-14, which is 1.7 percent, reports Main Line Media News. The newspaper reports that the board will not apply for Act 1 exceptions in the next fiscal year. For the current fiscal year, the board voted to raise real estate taxes by 3.21 percent. Of that increase, 1.7 percent was the Act 1 index, the remainder of the increase coming from state-granted exceptions, of which there will be none in 2013-14), according to the article. Also in school district news, the district has decided to postpone the implementation of a full-day kindergarten program to September, 2014. The original implementation date was September, …

Radnor Property Taxes May Stay Flat

Parking tickets are likely to be increased by $5 to $20.

Radnor Township tax payers may see no real estate tax increase in 2013. "The introduction of Radnor Township’s 2013 final budget passed by 7-0 Board of Commissioners vote Monday night. It sets the tax millage rate for 2013 at 3.7511 mills and the annual sewer service charges at $5.74 per 1,000 gallons of water used in 2012. The tax increase figures to be zero percent," reports Main Line Media News. A fee of $36, to cover an increased municipal waste landfill “tipping fee,” although outside the budget, also needs to be dealt with, the newspaper reports. In other fee-related news, parking tickets are likely to be increased by $5 to $20, the same fee as in neighboring Lower Merion Township. Read the 2013 Budget and Five Year Capital Program …
