Radnor Board of Commissioners Elects First Female President

Elaine Paul Schaefer represents the township's Fourth Ward, which covers parts of Rosemont and Newtown Square.

Elaine Paul Schaefer (Democrat, Ward 4) was elected the first female president of Radnor Township's Board of Commissioners on Monday. She was elected to the board in 2009 and has served as vice president for one year. "We have a very full plate for the next year," Schaefer told Radnor Patch. "Some of the important issues that I'd like to see the BoC accomplish, or at least make progress on, are: Establishing a stable funding path for our long term obligations such as our OPEB liabilities; making progress toward establishing a stormwater management program and establishing a funding system for that program; Ensuring the long term viability and stability of the Willows Mansion; and working toward preserving a portion of the Ardrossan Estate…

Cabrini Brings Expansion Proposal to Radnor BOC

Cabrini College's expansion would include a new student center and parking changes.

Cabrini College presented a campus expansion plan to the Radnor Board of Commissioners on Monday, Main Line Media News reports. The plan, called the Cabrini College Gateway Project, includes a new three-story student center and an expansion of the Dixon Center athletic building. The college also wants to eliminate vehicle traffic from the center of campus.  In order to do this, they propose building a new road that goes around the center of campus and to reduce the West Parking Lot.  The college is also proposing changes to two other parking lots on campus. Quote from our Commissioners inside the Radnor Township Spring Newsletter, "Our goal in 2012 is to hold the line on expenses, to reduce them where possible, and to increase our revenues as we confidently plan for the future." I completely disagree with their goals! It should be: reduce expenses and decrease taxes. Nothing else is acceptable as a goal. Increasing revenues as an elected official is…   more ›
