Whiz Kid: Patricia Tyson

This week, Patch highlights science whiz Patricia Tyson of Wayne.

This week we highlight Vanderbilt-bound college freshman and 2012 Episcopal Academy graduate Patricia Tyson, of Wayne, whose science project was recognized by the state with a perfect score. Patch Whiz Kid of the Week: Patricia Noel Tyson Whiz Kid's Age: 18 Whiz Kid's School: Episcopal Academy / Vanderbilt University Whiz Kid's Accomplishment: Patricia's science project–the study of human skin strains and to determine how skin ages–received a perfect score and placed first in the regional competition of the Pennsylvania Junior Academy of Science (PJAS). The cross country super athlete goes to Episcopal Academy.

Patch Whiz Kid: Kristin Greenwood Whiz Kid's Age: 18 Whiz Kid's Hometown: Wayne Whiz Kid's School: Episcopal Academy Whiz Kid's Accomplishment: Kristin is captain for Episcopal Academy's (EA) cross country team and co-captain for spring and winter track. This year, Kristin was inducted into the Delaware County Chapter of the Pennsylvania Sports Hall of Fame at its fall student-athlete luncheon in early December for her accomplishments as a cross country runner. Whiz Kid: Arnav Jagasia

This 13-year old academic maven is a competitive musician, makes his own travel movies, and has a seriously mature career path in mind.

Every week Radnor Patch spotlights the accomplishments of local children and teenagers. Nominations for the Whiz Kid of the Week can come from local schools, churches, scouts, youth groups or any individual and can be for a variety of scholastic, athletic or service-oriented deeds. Accomplishments: Arnav has qualified for the Pennsylvania State Geography Bee for the past two years, and in 2011 he finished fifth in a field of 101 contestants.
