On the article Andy Reid in No-Win Situation This Year

ReplyWhile i can not imagine the psychological devastation that losing a child has wrought within. Mr. Reid I can discern between what is public "space" and what is private. I wholeheartedly disagree that if Reid chose to take some time off that Philly fans or the media would say he bailed on his team...and frankly if they did they are shallow callous humans whose opinion is meaningless anyway. That said, football is an event fans wait anxiously for from the moment one season ends until the next begins. A team does not belong to one man it belongs to every fan. I do not believe it would be fair or reasonable for Andy to CHOOSE to stay on in the capacity of head coach if there is even a small chance that his performance will himder the team. There are plenty of ways for him to stay involved while he tries to get through this tragedy but, it would not be right to ask for a mulligan.

On the article Pa.’s Voter ID Law: What’s the Big Deal?

ReplyJust when you thought you couldn’t be any more disgusted with the politics between D’s & R’s
You could not imagine a more blatant abuse of authority than what is going on in the swing state of Ohio.
Expanded voting hours in Republican counties restricted hours in Democrat counties. NO Really, read it again. The R’s in charge have voted to allow their registered voters to vote over a multi-day period while the D’s will be restricted in the hours that they can get out to support their candidates. Are you KIDDING me!!! And we Pennsylvanians have a comment thread over 58 deep arguing over whether the Republican law to limit voting by those who are most likely to vote Democrat is really about protection from voter fraud.
http://bit.ly/NdmYyqOn another note Ann Coulter just let the cat out of the bag with regard to the fantasy that Hannity is on a channel that is “Fair and Balanced” when she said “there is no point in your doing your show” if Romney surrogates are going to say things that kill his chance of being elected. I don't think it's a "strange assumption" and I don't know anyone who thinks of abortion as "a great equalizer" The pro-choice folks I know are just that "for CHOICE" What gives you the right to tell the victim of a rape that her abortion is "not truly necessary" You say we should "be solving the factors that contribute to the demand for abortion" While your "pro-life" side may "see this as impossible" the folks who believe in a womans right to choose have plenty of great ideas about how to reduce the demand for abortion. Unfortunately the Right-wing conservative position is anti-choice, anti-education, and anti-protection so where does that leave the rest of us?

Can I be argumentative? The "no where in the Constitution" argument is moronic. If everything that was not expressly guaranteed in the Constitutional was un-Constitutional I could not be making this argument over the internet from my laptop at my kitchen table.

Birdfan, This is exactly the type of statement that the person who wrote that post was talking about. It is "Fox News" ignorant. By that I mean you have read the whole article...(or maybe thats the problem and you only looked for something to attack someone about) and because of an error in terminology nothing else matters. They were obviously referring to the Missisippi ballot measure regarding EMBRYOs being considered people. "Even the reddest of red states failed to pass an amendment declaring a fetus is a child." They said fetus when they meant embryo! The point being that while YOU believe that "they are a child from day one" most people do not believe that the fertilized egg is a child for at least a couple months into the pregnancy. BUT that wasn't even the point of the post. It was about how people cant even disagree anymore without someone attacking someone for having a different perspective...hmmn, interesting? Its almost like you proved their point exactly as it was made in the post...hmm?

Gilligan, as mentioned by numerous others, this is not the venue for discussing YOUR issues with Lisas POD. YOU are wasting MY time and anyone elses who is here to have an intelligent CIVIL discussion about a nationally significant issue. Perhaps you could post a seperate article?
